St. Elisabeth’s Nursery School is staffed by three dedicated individuals. With their warmth and enthusiasm, they create a rich learning environment for the children and establish a supportive relationship with the parents.

Ms. Debra Wechter, Director, develops and implements the nursery school curriculum and extra-curricular programs. She also teaches in the classroom on a daily basis. Ms. Wechter holds a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Erikson Institute in Chicago. She has taught at multiple private schools throughout Chicago: The University of Chicago Lab School, Francis W. Parker School, The Catherine Cook School and, most recently, at Lincoln Park Cooperative Nursery School.

Ms. Eileen Lynn, Teacher, co-teaches with the Director in the classroom on a daily basis. Ms. Lynn is currently completing coursework toward her teacher certification and a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. Before joining St. Elisabeth’s Nursery School, Ms. Lynn taught at the Gertrude B. Nielsen Child Care and Learning Center in Northbrook.

Ms. Krissy Hawkins, Teacher Assistant, assists the Director and Teacher in the classroom on a daily basis. Ms. Hawkins has been assisting at St. Elisabeth’s Nursery School since the fall of 2007. She is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education at Oakton Community College.
